Personal Skills Training

Personal Effectiveness for Second Level Students

Duration: Two Half Days

Details

This programme is aimed at 17 – 18 year old second level students as they prepare for the world of work or further education. In business today having effective personal and interpersonal skills are taken as a given while the opposite may often be the case.  The common view has been that these skills can only be learned over time. This course equips delegates with the necessary tools to ensure success in their workplace or place of further education.

The programme is divided into two half days which allow skills practice in the intervening period. During the two half day programmes delegates learn how to build their confidence, ask for what they want and learn to say NO where and when appropriate. Delegates also learn how to work within and lead teams; assert themselves in the workplace, to be personally effective and to cope with stress and to manage their time, getting noticed for the right reasons, interpreting body language messages, dealing with difficult people and resolving conflict. Each delegate will leave having prepared a detailed and effective action plan. Delegate numbers on this course are kept deliberately low to ensure learning success.
